Arthur C.H. Lueder Jr., 85, of Egypt Mills died Sunday, June 2, 2013, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Aug. 29, 1927, in Egypt Mills, to Arthur F. and Regina Reimann Lueder.
Arthur served in the U.S. Army.
He worked at Marquette Cement, retiring in 1982. He later worked at Michael L. Annis Inc. and also drove a school bus for Nell Holcomb School after retiring. He was a volunteer firefighter with East County Fire Protection District from 1981 to 2007 as well as a board member. He was a lifelong farmer and member of Scriptural Evangelical Lutheran Church in Egypt Mills.
He is survived by 12 children, Dianna Barnes and Deborah (Mike) Annis of Cape Girardeau, Connie Exler, Rick (Barb) Lueder, Randy (Staci) Lueder, Kathy (Dwayne) Kirchhoff and Becky (Darrell) Sweet, all of Egypt Mills, Karen (Paul) Bohnert of Cape Girardeau, Kristie (Jeff) Dunning of Jackson, Julie (Mark) Slinkard of Whitewater, Mark (Sarah) Lueder of Chaffee, Mo., and Amy (Bill) Umbeck of Cape Girardeau.
Also surviving are 29 grandchildren, Michael Barnes, Elizabeth Wyatt, David Goehman, Jason Annis, Nicole Annis, Brittany Annis, Stephanie Wybert, Jordan Exler, Will Lueder, Emily Lueder, Amber Hopkins, Jeremy Lueder, Scott Kirchhoff, Adam Kirchhoff, Matthew Kirchhoff, Bethany Sweet, Becca Sweet, Drue Sweet, Kaylyn Bohnert, Maggie Bohnert, Jonathan Bohnert, Beau Dunning, Brooke Dunning, Amanda Slinkard, Ashleigh Slinkard, Andrea Slinkard, Charlie Lueder, Jack Lueder and Noah Umbeck; nine great-grandchildren, Dylan Barnes, Lauryn Barnes, Hunter Wyatt, Kayla Wybert, McKenna Hopkins, Layne Hopkins, Madilyn Kirchhoff, Hunter Kirchhoff and Avery Kirchhoff; and a sister, Regina Haman of Cape Girardeau.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marion Lueder, in 1992; a sister, Lillian Haman; a daughter, Letricia Goehman; a granddaughter, Laura Kirchhoff; and a son-in-law, Terry Exler.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Scriptural Evangelical Lutheran Church in Egypt Mills, with the Rev. Mark Rogers officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with full military rites.
Memorial contributions may be given to East County Fire Protection District Fireman's Fund for burn camp or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
